Tale As Old As Time

Tale As Old As Time

Oct 4th 2021

Greetings Gurus! Your minds are about to be blown. How do I know: because mine just was.

Let me set the scene for you:

It’s the 1930’s, you have to go to the dentist because your tooth hurts. In the middle of your appointment your dentist, Maxwell Lappe, looks down and sees that you have been biting your nails! He’s so horrified that he makes you a nail enhancement with his dental acrylic that goes on top of your nails that is supposed to help you knock the habit. You and all your friends went NUTS so he patented his creation and it became HUGE!

But he’s a dentist.. yeah, I know, it’s random but it gets better.

In 1957, Frank Slack (another dentist) broke his thumbnail and decided that he would make himself a thumbnail enhancement also using his dental acrylic but wanted his to look more realistic and be able to stay on the nail better. He was able to do this and then he and his brother built a whole company around the patented product as well as still supporting the dental community by selling dental supplies. This was the beginning stages of acrylic enhancements. (not pictured)

In the 70’s, Stuart Nordstrom developed the liquid powder system that most nail technicians use to perform their services today!

Is your mind blown yet? Well, let's fast forward to the present time, almost 100 years after the first type of nail enhancements came to be, shall we?

Nail Harmony has entered the chat and has perfected the liquid monomer and polymer powder formula, ProHesion.

ProHesion Nail Sculpting Liquid is custom formulated to perform with ProHesion Nail Sculpting Powder. When you take the hybrid molecules in the liquid and combine them with the Cross Link Technology used in the powder, you get a strong and durable enhancement as well as a fine, bubble free application. The ProHesion Sculpting powder is also self leveling leaving you with a nice, smooth surface. This system is developed in such a way that it can be used on even the most sensitive clients.

Nail Harmony really did take our “tale as old as time”, “old school”, acrylic formula and made it, “new school”. These aren’t your mother’s nails, these are the nails of the new generation.

As always, I’m sending you all of the good vibes, energies, and love! Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Don’t forget to thank your dentist.
